It was one heck of the “power show” shown by 11 parties union, “PDM”. I didn’t have a chance to listen to the live speeches of PDM “leadership” , but now I’ve successfully speared some of my time listening to them. Let’s discuss this PDM event step by step.
Who was the Host?
For quite a long time there was a massive public gathering of the PMLN pending in Lahore. In recent history, PMLN didn’t show her Lahori street power specially after 2011 PTI’s Jalsa. Now this was a perfect opportunity for PMLN to showcase their street power and relevance in this system.
As we all know that this was the last “power show” of 11 parties union, PDM, so It must be ground breaking. According to the schedule, this event was going to start at 2 PM in morning and must be finished before 5 PM. It might be the call of Molana Fazal ur Rehman, because in the past he never missed a chance to criticize Imran Khan for his “Late Night Show(s)”.
Anyway, regardless of the schedule, the Minar-e-Pakistan was empty till 2 PM. Number of news channels were rapidly reporting and showing the images of greater Iqbal park with empty seats. Organizers placed around 15000 chairs which were filled by hardly two to three thousand people at that time.
Leadership & Management Crisis
According to media sources, PDM higher management was ready at Ayaz Sadiq house to be on time but their MNAs and MPAs really disappointed them. Rally handlers from around the country were ordered to reach Minar-e-Pakistan till 11AM in morning, but they failed to do so. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary left Islamabad at 12 PM, a rally from Peshawar was also highlighted late after a car accident was reported at 12:30 PM. Khuwaja Asif also left Sialkot after 12 PM.
I personally think, if you’re advertising that much big regarding your narrative and motion, you must have also shown that way. This is a perfect example of bad coordination and management for marketing students. If you are putting that much hype in a campaign you should also save some of your energy for the final shot.
As PMLN Nawaz group was the organiser and the host of this public gathering, they must have shown their true strength in this. Everyone was expecting huge turn around from the surrounding areas like Kasur, Sheikupura, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Narowal, and Sialkot. What should I say, due to lack of managerial skill, it happens. Now most of you will be thinking that PMLN is in this system from ages, how can he say something like that. Well, it was a first experience for Maryam.
PDM Stage and Speeches
What next? Or we can even say, What was that? After failing in turning expectation into reality, it happens. People were expecting resignations, clear dates for a long march. I was even expecting for a civil disobedience movement, or strike in big financial markets. And what do we get? Absolute nothing.
Lahoris the Traitors, Achakzai
After witnessing such “a huge crowd” Achakzai lost his senses and turned out taunting Lahoreis that they invaded Afghanistan along with british. Like seriously? You are in Lahore, playing last over in a crucial situation and yet you did not stop taunting? I was totally surprised by the “leadership” of PMLN and PPPP, how can they listen while keeping their mouth shut. PMLN always played the Lahore card in their politics and yet none of their so called “leadership” condemned Achakzai’s comments.
Rehman’s Hope Not Out
One thing which was common in the speeches of these three was nothing but portrating another fantasy. After getting their hearts happy, now they want to move on to the next step. They told us that they are coming towards Islamabad with resignations in hands. On the side they also failed to announce the date for this march. On the low notes, Fazal ur Rehman announced that the march will take place in late January or early February.
Maryam’s Stance Remains Same
Maryam is still living in fantasy, Criticising the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government Maryam said, “Lahorites have buried the [government] which came into power on a fake promise of change.”
PMLN 47 years old young blood also showed some of her acting skill, mocking Prime Minister Imran Khan she said that PM Imran had been saying that he will not grant an NRO to the opposition, but today the prime minister was seeking an NRO from PDM and Nawaz Sharif.
After failing so badly, and just to gain little sympathy Maryam also urged people to wear masks. “Please come out to our rallies but don’t forget to wear your masks because I care about your health.” Speechless.

It was also reported that PMLN’s MPA in KPK Sobia Shahid tested positive for COVID-19. She was leading the rally for the party to Lahore just before testing positive for COVID-19. It is pertinent to mention here that keeping in view the rising number of COVID-19 cases and the security concerns, Lahore’s deputy commissioner on Friday rejected an application of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) seeking permission to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan ground on 13th of December. But no, you only care for your pitiful little interests. Isn’t it WOW?
Bilawal Trying to Dictate
Bilawal is a very selfless person, our generation needs to learn from him. Look how he is raising voice for Shehbaz Sharif even knowing that he wanted to drag his dad on streets. I don’t know what I should call, selfless or respectless. So as per ARY News “Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday demanded of the government to release Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif and Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah”
Bilawal also stated that we are coming to Islamabad and the government should stop sending messages for any dialogues. I wonder, who was that lunatic who asked him to negotiate? That guy should have asked Asif Zardari, who is the real decision maker in the party.
Or Bilawal wants to direct traffic towards himself? Maybe he wants to receive requests by himself as a party chairman.
Nawaz, little more Nazariati
I feel sorry for Nawaz Sharif, three times Prime Minister living in self exile. What has he done all these years? He can’t even sell his narrative properly. So called “Vote ko Izat Do”, while not respecting any opinion within the party. I’m 120% sure that PMLN “leadership” never asked their MPAs and MNAs about their views on resignation from Punjab and Capital. If Nawaz can’t give respect to his own “votes” within the party so how is he trying to convince the general public? Pure hypocrisy.
Nawaz Sharif recalls the event of 1940, where resolution of Pakistan was adopted. In continuation, he said at that time we gathered here to get rid of British (while sitting in the UK) and now we are here to get rid of some generals.
I just want to go hard a little bit, Nawaz Sharif Sahab in 1940 we were having Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on stage. That Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who never lied in his life. He was a man of his words, he was never involved in financial corruption. He wasn’t even involved in any moral corruption.
Despite having the letters of Nehru and Lady Viceroy in hand, he didn’t open them nor even thrown the copies “from the helicopters”. You should behave yourself before marking yourself and your pity interest with founding fathers.
Where Is The Trump Card?
We were expecting of some really hardcore decision, but what we got? Just the wastage of time. I don’t know why our public still buys this narrative. Maybe I know,
According to reports, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has summoned a meeting of top party leaders to review the flaws during the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan. This drama should be stopped now, things are changing in the region, we should be more responsible. If we didn’t counter the regional situation on time, it would be the problem for Pakistan.
One thing is for sure is that, after this flop show Imran Khan is turned out as victorious. But he should take control in his own hands. If he really wants to win this, he needs to go back to basics.
I’m not a fan or supporter of Imran Khan’s government, but at this time we don’t have any other option. People will never go for Nawaz and Zardari again. I wish and pray for an all powerful presidential system.
